While Christmas shopping yesterday, I discovered the LEGO Garbage Truck set. Yes, it's a garbage truck -- the little LEGO people are putting dead fish and bananas in it, not cans and bottles -- but it is green and clearly marked with recycling symbols, so maybe there's some confusion in LEGO land about what's recyclable! In any case, I couldn't help noticing that
- there are two drivers, like we have on most Green Door routes
- one of them is female, as has historically been the case for many Green Door routes
- the male has a beard and glasses, which is highly unusual for LEGO people but pretty common for Green Door drivers
- they carry a broom, which I haven't seen on a garbage truck, but our truck always carries one
It looks like there used to be a LEGO Recycling Truck set with separate containers so kids could practice sorting recyclables, but it's been discontinued. Everything in LEGO land is made of the same plastic anyway (even fish and bananas), so single-stream collection is the way to go!
